The underwater world would not exist without seaweed! Seaweed is an important producer of oxygen and provides shelter and food for marine life.

A giant seaweed installation is being created for the Children’s Museum’s underwater world. Seaweed made using different fiber techniques will be arranged on the walls and other surfaces of the underwater world – the result will be a rich and diverse seafloor environment.

You can take part in creating the artwork at Children’s Museum events and now also from the comfort of your own home! For these fun small projects, you can use leftover yarns from the bottom of your craft baskets. Download the instructions from the link below.

The name of each contributor will be given an honorary place among the makers of the artwork. Those who create and deliver ten or more seaweed pieces to the museum will be rewarded with a free ticket to the Museum and Science Centre Tiima!
